Virginia law permits notaries to charge $10 per notarial act on a document such as an Affidavit or a Power of Attorney.

Power of Attorney (POA) $10 per notarial act, plus a convenience charge based on the distance to the appointment.

If the notary must provide for a witness, the witness fee base is $25 or more depending on the distance the witness travels to the appointment. There is no fee for the witness if the signers provide witnesses.
